A few years ago I received a call from Helen Fox, a volunteer for Granny’s Garden School. The group had a program where they charged a minimal fee to give gardeners all they needed to succeed in growing enough food for their family with enough left over for a food pantry donation. One of the items they provided to families was a frost cloth to cover the plants as temperatures dropped.Helen said the aisle runners from weddings make the perfect frost cloths. If you have a wedding coming up and would like to donate your aisle runner after the big day, look into giving it to the community garden in your neighborhood.
