Tell Us How You Met: Tim and I met in 2005 when I needed a date for Seton’s Sophomore Dance. My friend wanted to ask Tim’s friend Lee, but Lee wouldn’t go unless his friend Tim could come too. This is where I came in… the friend for Tim. When Tim and I met for the first time, it wasn’t love at first sight, but Tim somehow got me to text him first! Our first conversation started with me texting Tim, “So how’s the fishin’ club”… The rest is history!
List Three Favorite Elements of Your Wedding: Venue, Flowers, Cake
List Three Additional Vendors (Not Already Listed) That You Loved:
- Photographer – Laura did an amazing job. Our photos turned out better than I could have ever imagined and she had to deal with a groom that hates having his picture taken!
- Videographer – I never thought I needed a video of our wedding, but I am so glad my mom did not give me a choice. The video is amazing from start to finish and shows the entire day!
- Cake – It was not only beautiful but delicious!
Your ceremony in three words: Just the beginning…
What was your inspiration for your reception? I had always wanted a red and black themed wedding. I also wanted our wedding to be romantic.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding ceremony? Tim and I were married in the same church both our parents were married in. I am hoping we will start a tradition for our children.
First Dance Song: Fall into Me, Brantley Gilbert
What was the best advice you received as a bride? To relax on the day of the wedding.
What is the one piece of advice you would give to other couples that are now planning their wedding? Have fun and relax! You are planning for the most amazing day of your lives! Download lots of wedding checklist apps! They are all different and helpful to stay on task! Also if you are having a large wedding with a number of different vendors, hire a day of wedding planner! Karen from i-do was amazing and helped deal with all the “day of” issues so both my mom and I could relax and enjoy the day.
If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently? There aren’t many things I would have changed. The few things I would change were that we did not have enough pens (those we did have ran out of ink) so some guests weren’t able to sign our guest frame. I also wish we made the photobooth more noticeable and obvious in such a large space. I spoke with many guests who had no idea there was a photobooth.
What was your favorite part of the day? I’m not sure if I could pick a favorite part. Getting married was obviously an amazing part of the day. I also loved walking into the reception. While our guests were enjoying cocktail hour, Tim and I were able to go up and see the ballroom. I was so amazed that 21 months of planning turned into the most beautiful reception I had ever seen. It was so much more beautiful than I had imagined. I was also so happy to be able to celebrate with everyone we love and party the night away!
